Piper was created using a standard Barbie from Mattel. She has the belly button body and light tan skin tone. All factory paint was fully removed and I gave her a full facial repaint using artist acrylics and sealers. I then washed, conditioned and layered her hair into a semi long style. Hope you like her!
I am not affiliated with the Mattel company. I simply use their beautiful dolls as a canvas for my own artistic expression.
WOW. This is one of my least favorite barbie faces and you made her Beautiful. I love your work. Im a repaint artist as well, Any tips for that perfect eyeshadow you do?
Awww, thankyou very much. Yes, I have to agree... not the most attractive Barbie sculpt! lol Eyeshadow... well, the best advice I can give is to paint eyeshadow in lots of thinned down layers and only use a blending medium... definitely not water. It blends much easier that way and doesn't have a hard line. Hope that helps!
I am going to try that.. Ive heard in the past to water it down and it just doesnt have the effect I was going for. Is medium anything like Leveler? I ordered some leveler to try it [link] otherwise where do you get your medium at? thanx so much, it was very helpful. cant wait to try it
I checked out the Leveler and I think its probably a very similar medium. I use Jo Sonja's Blend and Stroke medium. I love it and its artist quality. I think you can buy it online if you just google the brand name but I would say that the Leveler will do the same thing. Let me know how you go!
Thanx for all the info. i did order the leveler and i also found some folk art medium.. so far i really like the medium, ill let ya know about the leveler when it arrives. thanx again.
BTW, can you mix pillarbox red and sugarberry saran to create a pinkish red colour?
otherwise where do you get your medium at?
thanx so much, it was very helpful. cant wait to try it
