Carmen - OOAK Barbie Repaint by IvyHeartDesigns Carmen - OOAK Barbie Repaint by IvyHeartDesigns
Carmen was created using an 11.5 inch vinyl Barbie Basics No5 doll by Mattel. All factory paint was fully removed and she was given a full facial repaint in artist acrylics and sealers. I also took down her hair, washed and conditioned it and then cut and styled it into a gorgeous long feathery style. She is currently for sale via auction... if anyone is interested, you can find her auction link on my website here...

Thanks so much for looking!

I am not affiliated in any way with the Mattel company. I simply use their wonderful dolls as a canvas for my own artistic expression! :)

what do you make of the head mould?www.flickr.com/photos/31303432…

something tells me it's either a goddess head mould, or judging by the features, a lea/kayla head mould!

how can you make the doll custom different to what it originally was?

Well, for me, I just seem to get ideas pop in my head as I'm painting and it develops from there. Its rare that I can get an idea beforehand and then customise the doll that way. The more you work on these girls, the easier it gets I think!

I can expect this from a Gene or a Tonner. But this? You are a genius! Wonderful job.

I agree. My mother does some dollwork and the effects are always dramatically different, but she usually uses the Gene, Tonner, or Delilah Noir.
