Caprice was created using a 11.5 inch Barbie Basics #5 doll by Mattel. All factory paint was fully removed and she was given a full facial repaint! I also removed all her gorgeous original black hair (it was REALLY hard to do, you know! lol) and gave her a full head reroot in red Katsilk saran with a touch of light blonde mixed throughout for highlights! :hug:

I am not affiliated in any way with the Mattel company. I simply use their lovely dolls as a canvas for my own artistic expression! :)

Beautiful! I love the red hair! I imagine it's very tedious rerooting it. However, like any craft there's always the pleasure in doing it. :)

Well, its VERY time consuming and many other artists I know don't like to do it but I find it strangely soothing and a little therapeutic! lol But then I am a little strange! :laughing:

BTW, when doing custom twin dolls, how do you make them easy to distinguish from one another?

Well I've only ever done the one set of twins and I just made slight differences such as eyebrow shape, mouth shape. After a while when painting them, you tend to know which is which... I bet thats the same for parents of real twins! lol :)
